Development Description
The development will consist of demolition of both existing boiler house buildings, the construction of a two storey extension to the front school building with a total floor area of 994.8 m2 comprising a 2 classroom SEN Unit, 3 no. en-suite classrooms, staff room, sanitary facilities, ancillary and service rooms, alterations to front school building to comprise the demolition an existing porch, the provision of a new roof light to existing kitchen, and other minor alterations to facilitate connection with proposed extension alterations to rear school building to comprise the amalgamation of two smaller classrooms to create one larger classroom, and the reconfiguration of an existing kitchen to be repurposed as a plant room including minor changes to the elevation, 5) alterations to outdoor play areas comprising the provision of Secure SEN Play Area and Sensory Garden, the removal of existing “Astroturf” play area and replacement with new “astroturf” play area to the north of the site, and provision of new hard surface play areas to the west and south of the rear building, provision of new internal road including the construction of a new vehicular entrance from the church grounds, and the provision of set down area and 6 no. parking spaces to serve the SEN Unit, provision of 24 no. covered bicycle parking spaces, provision of new LPG gas compound and Heat Pump compound, installation of solar panels to proposed extension roof, all associated drainage & site development works.
