How PlanningBrief uses public planning-register data and email signup data.

PlanningBrief republishes selected public-register planning details, captures email addresses only when people ask for downloads or updates, and provides a removal request route for personal names.

Public planning-register data

PlanningBrief republishes selected information from Irish public planning-register pages and official planning data feeds: planning authority, application number, site address, development description, dates, project status, value band estimates, source links, applicant names and agent or architect names where they appear on the public register.

PlanningBrief does not scrape, store or render applicant personal phone numbers or applicant personal email addresses. Source links are shown so readers can verify each record against the official register before acting.

Lawful basis

For public-register planning data, PlanningBrief relies on legitimate interest: summarising publicly available planning information for construction, planning, safety and local-business readers. We balance that interest by showing source links, avoiding personal phone/email collection, limiting the data displayed to planning-context fields, and providing the removal request route below.

Email signups

When you request a PlanningBrief download, we store your email address, the page you signed up from, your consent flag, the signup time and an unsubscribe token.

We use that information to provide the requested download and send PlanningBrief construction resources and weekly updates where you consented. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link shown after signup. Subscriber records are retained while consent is active, then kept only as needed to respect unsubscribe and suppression choices.
